This pocket knife will allow you to incise and peel chestnuts, but also to peel garlic cloves, or to quickly remove the pits of plums, apricots, cherries... by making an incision on the fruit, it is therefore very practical for preparing jams and tarts.
Its small size allows it to slip easily into your pocket and its 4 cm bird's beak blade, sharp and short, is more maneuverable than a long blade and allows a movement that is both safe and quick for maximum efficiency.
Its chestnut handle is unique in the Opinel collection, it is a light and nicely veined wood from French forests.
Features :

- Sandvik's modified 12C27 stainless steel developed for Opinel is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40% which allows you to obtain a very satisfactory cutting edge without being sensitive to corrosion. Blade hardness 57-58 HRC.
- Chestnut wood is one of the most beautiful species of wood, it has a light and homogeneous color, fine and regular veining and very strong resistance over time.
- Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all closing knives from No. 06 onwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc is made up of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety of use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safety of transport).
