Outdoor knife N°8

This N°08 is equipped with a 2.5 mm thick stainless steel blade, a 3.5 cm notched area, very efficient for cutting natural or synthetic ropes without tearing, as well as a deshackler for shackles from 4 to 10 mm. The handle resists water, shock and extreme temperatures. It is equipped with a whistle with a range of 300 m.

Features :

• Blade length: 8.5 cm
• Martensitic stainless steel which has high hardness thanks to the addition of nitrogen (0.15%) and superior corrosion resistance thanks to a high level of chromium (16%).
• The handle is injected with polyamide loaded with fiberglass which guarantees great resistance to shocks, water, and extreme temperatures (-40°C to +80°C). A whistle is integrated into the heel of the handle, without a ball it works in all weather, with a power of 110 dB, it has a range of approximately 300 meters in an open area.
• Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all closing knives from No. 06 onwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc is made up of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety of use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safety of transport).
