Helena Vase

The five vases in dark brown, almost black stoneware, are Marie Michielssen's first steps as a ceramist. Those who follow Marie know that she likes to work with her hands. On this subject, she previously stated that due to the repetitive nature of the actions, modeling with plaster and papier-mâché was almost meditative for her. The transition to ceramics therefore did not represent a very big change. The simple cylinders are irregular in shape, characteristic of the craftsmanship. Due to their uniqueness, they are decorative with or without a flower.
